It Was In Your Eyes .................!!!

It was a bitter, cold evening in northern Virginia many years ago. The old man's beard was glazed by winter's frost while he waited for a ride across the river. The wait seemed endless. His body became numb and stiff from the frigid north wind.

He heard the faint, steady rhythm of approaching hooves galloping along the frozen path. Anxiously, he watched as several horsemen rounded the bend. He let the first one pass by without an effort to get his attention. Then another passed by, and another. Finally, the last rider neared the spot where the old man sat like a snow statue. As this one drew near, the old man caught the rider's eye and said, "Sir, would you mind giving an old man a ride to the other side? There doesn't appear to be a passageway by foot."

Reining his horse, the rider replied, "Sure thing. Hop aboard." Seeing the old man was unable to lift his half-frozen body from the ground, the horseman dismounted and helped the old man onto the horse. The horseman took the old man not just across the river, but to his destination, which was just a few miles away.
As they neared the tiny but cozy cottage, the horseman's curiosity caused him to inquire, "Sir, I notice that you let several other riders pass by without making an effort to secure a ride. Then I came up and you immediately asked me for a ride. I'm curious why, on such a bitter winter night, you would wait and ask the last rider.

What if I had refused and left you there?"

The old man lowered himself slowly down from the horse, looked the rider straight in the eyes, and replied, "I've been around these here parts for some time. I reckon I know people pretty good." The old-timer continued, "I looked into the eyes of the other riders and immediately saw there was no concern for my situation. It would have been useless even to ask them for a ride. But when I looked into your eyes, kindness and compassion were evident. I knew, then and there, that your gentle spirit would welcome the opportunity to give me assistance in my time of need."

Those heartwarming comments touched the horseman deeply.

"I'm most grateful for what you have said," he told the old man. "May I never get too busy in my own affairs that I fail to respond to the needs of others with kindness and compassion."

With that, Thomas Jefferson turned his horse around and made his way back to the White House.

Wynncom Y100 - Affordable social-networking smartphone for the youth [Review].......!!!

The Wynncom Y100 is a feature-rich social-networking & multimedia smartphone that yields good value for money. At a price of Rs. 4,495, we have very little to bargain, except for the lack of Wi-Fi & a bundled memory card. However, it is a costly compromise to miss out on good ergonomics and a QWERTY touch keypad. A faster processor and a more responsive interface, would have made better justice to this value for money smartphone. If you aren't a touch-screen fanatic or a performance hungry freak, then the Y100 serves as one of the most affordable touch-screen smartphones available in the market today.
Pros
  • Very affordable
  • Decent build quality
  • Ships with a leather pouch
  • Decent camera

Cons
  • Quite bulky
  • Sluggish interface
  • Lacks Wi-Fi & QWERTY touch keypad
  • No bundled memory card
The Wynncom Y100 is yet another dual SIM touchscreen smartphone competing against the likes of Spice Mi-300 and Videocon's ZEUS V7500. It incorporates a stylish and attractive design which is surprisingly well complemented with a tank-like build. The front and rear panels are reinforced with anodised aluminium finish to give it a rugged feel and look. The multimedia control buttons are etched into the left side-panel, while the call function buttons coated in blue-moon silver decorate the bottom of the 3-inch LCD screen. The matte brown plastic strip running across the body contours & engulfing the lower portion of the rear panel, adds a nice contrast against the metallic finish on the front & rear panels. The presence of 3.5mm audio jack justifies the tag of multimedia smartphone, which most multimedia budget phones miss out on these days. The battery cover is built like a tank and does not break off easily during usage. The multimedia control & call function buttons incorporate an ordinary build and hence are hard on the fingers. Overall, the stylish workmanship and design aesthetics are focused on the youth, which happens to be Wynncom's marketing strategy.

Wynncom Y100 (front view)
The lack of a hardware QWERTY keypad makes typing and navigation cumbersome; with all due credit to the sluggish resistive touchscreen and an equally horrendous stylus that lacks pin-point precision. We aren't forgiving the unproductive touchscreen keypad either, which is designed in the outdated “abc” key format. The sluggish interface coupled with a stubbornly slow processor, truly makes it a horrible experience for touchscreen fanatics and novice users alike. A QWERTY style touchscreen keypad would have been the saving grace, overlooking the poorly designed ergonomics. The only big positives are the well organized menu interface, three customizable home screens and feature-rich social-networking applications including: Nimbuzz, Opera Mini, eBuddy & 160by2. In addition, mobile tracker, file protection software & mobile pouch bundled with the handset add value for money.

Y100 (rear view)
Performance
The Y100 delivered a decent performance with unwavering voice clarity and consistent signal reception across zones one & two. However, there was a slight fall in the voice clarity across zone three, where we subjected the handset to environmental noise and signal interference in a crowded street. The speaker volume and device earpiece volume was more than audible. The camera test yielded ordinary results with average image clarity and colour depth. The lack of flash functionality resulted in blurred or out of focus images in poor light conditions. The multimedia test delivered good treble & bass balance sans distortion on volumes up to 75%, which holds true for both the bundled earphones and the loudspeaker. However, the bundled earphones sounded softer than the loudspeaker indicating better bass control & vocal sound reproduction. The quality of the display is ordinary and the legibility under bright sunshine is poor due to the glossy finish. However, we were impressed with the extremely sharp and crisp video playback at good frame rates sans stuttering or pixelation. Our Take
The Wynncom Y100 is a feature-rich social-networking & multimedia smartphone that yields good value for money. At a price of Rs. 4,495, we have very little to bargain, except for the lack of Wi-Fi and a bundled memory card. However, it is a costly compromise to miss out on good ergonomics and a QWERTY touch keypad. A faster processor and a more responsive interface would have made better justice to this value for money smartphone. How Much can you Give in Love....???

Have you ever been in love?Loved someone so much you give your everything? Mind, body, effort, time and soul?

When I was younger I met this boy that for some reason I get so addicted with. Back then, I don't know what to call that intense feeling that made me do all those stupid stuff just to make him notice me but LOVE. I would follow him, shout his name in the middle of the streets for all the world to know that I desperately would love to be notice by him and when he did, I did blush. Back then, I would make poems, simple notes and letters ( telling him that I want him to be the father of my would be children, LOL) and I never pass any single occasions to greet him, his birthday, Christmas, new year valentines etc. As I was reminiscing this things I really can't help but to smile thinking I was so stupid..LOL! Right now, i have come to evaluate my feelings for him.. I've already outgrown my feelings for him and yes I admit.. that back then.. I really loved him.. I really did..And I realize what I have for that boy.. What I have for him back then was a puppy love.. an innocent love..

I never expected a relationship,I did not asked for commitment.. All I want that time was to be notice. Yes, I've dreamed to be with him cause back then, I'm happy doing it.. dreaming of him.. and it's as simple as that... no more reasoning out.. no conflict..

But as the years past me by, as I get a clear picture of what the real world is, my outlook in life and love has changed..It is no more simple, it is complicated..I already want a commitment, I want a relationship.
Now as i end up with this thinking I ask myself, what can I do for love? A very simple question but it gives me a hard time answering it.. It's hard cause there's no more question here if I'm still young or a more mature person..the clear question here is what can I do for love?

I'm not sure if my answer would be right or not but the only sure thing is that.. I would give my everything for love..And I really mean everything cause for me, it isn't a matter of how much you can give out in a relationship but how much effort you've shown just for the relationship to work out. Besides, it isn't just for me, it is about my happiness, it's about my future..

Now here is the second big question, what if after you've done everything, give him everything, sacrifice all that you have and all that you are, it isn't yet enough for him? What if he still can't love you enough to make him stay? Enough to make him share his tomorrow with you? Heck! I've been hearing all this lines over and over again.. " It's not you, it's me..", "You don't deserve me, you deserve someone better..", "You are better off without me.." . What are you gonna do?
For sure, for sometime you'll self pity.. coz you'll think you're broken..You'll think there's nothing left for you cause when he left you're lifeless.. He is your life.. But don't you think it will be more foolish to cry for the things you can no longer re arrange? Yes it is okay to cry, to mourn , to grieve over your dead heart, it is natural.. but what is not normal is when you stop living just because he decided to end up the relationship.. Stops breathing because he lets you feel you aren't worth anything..It isn't yet the end of the world! Instead of crying your heart out, why don't you just look for something that would divert your attention on what happen? Go out, meet up with your old friends, relax.. go shopping or window shopping. Make yourself beautiful than the way you are even before he met you.Make him realize hat when he dump you, he made the biggest mistake of his life..that he was the one who loss more cause you loved him more than anyone could ever do. Make the happy memories with him your inspiration to love someone again in the right time and the bad memories your motivation to totally move forward. In time, you'll see, all the wounds will heal, all the scars would vanish and all that is left for you is the brand new better you.

What would make the struggles more worthwhile is that when you realize that you are perfectly fine without the person you thought you needed the most. You will realize that it is only God,s one way of telling you to be strong, to hold on and to be ready cause he will be sending the Right one for you.. The right person who will give you the world just to make you happy.. The one who will make you the queen of his life and the person who will make the journey in your life worthwhile.. The one who'll be very much willing to hold your hand until you reach the sunset of life.

Now if someone again asked you the same question, never be afraid to answer with conviction.. Yes, you already did, love someone so much..and although it didn't work out the way you expected it to be at least you know to yourself that you did everything to make the relationship to last. You'll even be prouder to yourself cause you know you are ready again to try and try.. until you succeed in having that someone who will share your heart and life with.. Just have faith that everything will turn out to be as God planned it to be and with His providence, in the end.. you will be happy...

Apple developing glasses-free 3D and holographic display technology........!!!

A patent filed in 2006 shows Apple’s interest in the 3D realms, showing a new type of three dimensional and holographic glasses-free display. A lot has changed since 2006 since, and while the patent probably had concentrated on television, monitors and even projection systems, its present applications in smaller, mobile segment are certainly appealing to Apple, the company behind the bestselling iPhone and iPad devices.

The display technology supposedly uses lens-like bumps on the screen that deflect stereoscopic images from each pixel into the right and left eyes of the viewer. While it does seem like the viewing angles would be quite limited with this approach, and not ideal for multiple viewers, Apple’s patent claims the display combined with 3D imaging technology would be able to track the movements of multiple viewers and manipulate the deflected image to keep it crispy and autostereoscopic for all.

The combination apparently will also allow for holographic images to projected, or at least “pseudo-holographic” images:

"An exceptional aspect of the invention is that it can produce viewing experiences that are virtually indistinguishable from viewing a true hologram. Such a "pseudo-holographic" image is a direct result of the ability to track and respond to observer movements.

By tracking movements of the eye locations of the observer, the left and right 3D sub-images are adjusted in response to the tracked eye movements to produce images that mimic a real hologram. The invention can accordingly continuously project a 3D image to the observer that recreates the actual viewing experience that the observer would have when moving in space around and in the vicinity of various virtual objects displayed therein. This is the same experiential viewing effect that is afforded by a hologram.

It allows the observer, for example, to move around a virtual object and top observe multiple sides from different angles."

While Apple is an unlikely company to beat out the display giants in the business, if it perfects the glasses-free 3D technology - and as an added bonus: holographic images - it might just have a jumpstart in the industry, especially the content providers.

COWON launches phone-like PMP - the Android 2.1 based D3 Plenue..................!!!

Korean audio system designers COWON have launched a new PMP that looks just like a phone, and runs Android 2.1 to boot – called the D3 Plenue. The news comes in the wake of Samsung’s rumoured forthcoming launch of Galaxy S derived and Froyo-based PMP – the Galaxy Player.

Apart from the lack of Froyo and actual Android Market access, the D3 Plenue is pretty well-endowed, with a 1GHz processor, a 3.7-inch AMOLED screen with 800x480 resolution, HDMI out and 1080p HD playback, Wi-Fi b/g, accelerometer, microphone, FM radio, microSD expansion, 1200 mAh battery (removable), T-DMB tuner, Bluetooth 3.0, and even a pair of cameras – 3.2MP and VGA (front-facing) for video calling.

It also supports lossless audio formats such as FLAC, M4A and Monkey's Audio, and comes bundled with SoundAlive and JetEffect 3.0 for equalizers and other audio enhancements. A wide variety of video formats and codecs are also supported, from AVI, to Xvid/DivX and 3GP. The phone-like PMP has for now only been launched in Korea, but unless it’s priced very competitively if and when it launches elsewhere, we don’t see the COWON D3 Plenue doing better than a mid-to-low range Android phone with its form factor, 120g weight, and non-Market apps.

The Value Of A Smile....................!!!

The value of a smile is priceless, yet it is the cheapest, easiest, most rewarding and most sincere gift to anyone that crosses your path. A smile makes a person's day, anybody's day even a stranger's day. A smile is infectious. Start infecting people with your smile today.

A smile is nature's best antidote for discouragement. It brings rest to the weary, sunshine to those who are sad, and hope to those who are hopeless and defeated.
A smile is so valuable that it can't be bought, begged, borrowed, or taken away against your will. You have to be willing to give a smile away before it can do anyone else any good.

So if someone is too tired or grumpy to flash you a smile, let him have one of yours anyway. Nobody needs a smile as much as the person who has none to give.

Value.............!!!

A well known speaker started off his seminar by holding up a $20 bill. In the room of 200, he asked, "Who would like this $20 bill?"
Hands started going up.
He said, "I am going to give this $20 to one of you but first, let me do this." He proceeded to crumple the dollar bill up.
He then asked, "Who still wants it?"
Still the hands were up in the air.
"Well," he replied, "What if I do this?" And he dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe.
He picked it up, now all crumpled and dirty. "Now who still wants it?" Still the hands went into the air.

"My friends, you have all learned a very valuable lesson. No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value. It was still worth $20.
Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way.

We feel as though we are worthless. But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you will never lose your value. You are special - Don't ever forget it!

Trust in God. Always........!!!

I asked for Strength.........
And God gave me Difficulties to make me strong.

I asked for Wisdom.........
And God gave me Problems to solve.

I asked for Prosperity.........
And God gave me Brain and Brawn to work.

I asked for Courage.........
And God gave me Danger to overcome.

I asked for Love.........
And God gave me Troubled people to help.

I asked for Favors.........
And God gave me Opportunities.

I received nothing I wanted ........
I received everything I needed!

Facebook passes Yahoo to become third-largest website............!!!

The holiday season came one day early for Facebook this year, as Santa bestowed the company the title of "third largest website ever." New metrics from comScore indicate that Facebook has finally passed Yahoo for third place, pulling in 648 million unique visitors for November 2010 versus Yahoo's 630 million.

Only Microsoft, with 869 million unique visitors, and Google, with 970 million, stand in Facebook's way at this point. Yahoo drops down to fourth, though that should really come as little surprise--Facebook has been chipping away at the search giant for some time now.

As of December 2009, Facebook's pageviews were already up to 193 billion versus Yahoo's 100 billion (and Microsoft's 109 billion, to note). As well, November metrics from comScore indicate that Facebook serves up more than twice as much display advertising as Yahoo—23 percent of all online ads within the U.S. compared to Yahoo's 11 percent.

Facebook leaped over Yahoo in a batch of September comScore metrics related to U.S. video properties. As of August 2010, Facebook delivered video to 58.5 million users versus Yahoo's 53.9, representing a total of 243 million viewing sessions to Yahoo's 229 million. The only metric where Yahoo actually beat Facebook out was on viewing time—Yahoo users viewed an average of 31.6 minutes of online video per person versus Facebook users' 20.5 minutes per person.

Yahoo nevertheless beats out Facebook when isolated to just U.S. visitors only. In this, the company is the top website on the Internet with 181 million unique monthly visitors. Facebook, at 152 million, sits in fourth place on this ranking.

Narrowing the category to search engines only, Yahoo still trails Google at a rate of 16 percent to 66.2 percent for U.S. search engine market share. Its second place ranking is a bit tentative as well, for November 2010 metrics from comScore show that Microsoft, at 11.8 percent, is slowly gaining ground based on October 2010 results.

"Our greatest competitor probably is Facebook, more so than Google," said Yahoo CEO Carol Bartz at a Bloomberg event earlier this month. "They're a hot site, but there's room for more than one of anything."

Samsung to show off Galaxy Player - a Galaxy S derived Froyo-based PMP - at CES 2011............!!!

Seems like Samsung is following in Apple’s footsteps once again, and plans to release a portable media player that is just as subtly emasculated as the iPod Touch is with respect to the iPhone 4. It will supposedly be shown off by the Korean giant at the upcoming CES 2011 show, where Motorola will show off its Android Honeycomb tablet.

Known as the Samsung Galaxy Player, the device will be physically and internally similar to the Samsung Galaxy S, apparently retaining the same 9.9mm thickness while doing away with 2G and 3G connectivity, and the high res rear camera.

While this makes it a fair bit thicker than the razor slim 7.2mm iPod Touch, it certainly isn’t going to be uncomfortable to hold or carry around. As for other features, the device will sport a fully-funcitonal Android 2.2 Froyo operating system, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 3.0. making the player just as multi-faceted (and without the dependence of iTunes, maybe a little more) a device as the iPod Touch, doing everything from email to gaming to productivity.

The device will have access to both the Android Market and the Samsung Apps stores and will also have a GPS sensor on board, something the iPod Touch doesn’t have.
The Galaxy Player will feature a 4-inch SuperLCD screen (800x480) instead of the Galaxy S’ Super AMOLED screen, but then again, that’s expected, with Samsung pushing the former technology as the future of displays. It will sport a 3.2MP camera at the rear, with a front-facing camera for video calls.
