HAPPINESS............!!!

Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room. One man was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour each afternoon to help drain the fluid from his lungs. His bed was next to the room's only window. The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back. The men talked for hours on end. They spoke of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, their involvement in the military service where they had been on vacation.

Every afternoon when the man in the bed by the window could sit up he would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the things he could see outside the window.

The man in the other bed began to live for those one hour periods where his life would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity and color of the world outside.

The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake. Ducks and swans played on the water while children sailed their model boats. Young lovers walked arm in arm amidst flowers of every color of the rainbow. Grand old trees graced the landscape, and a fine view of the city skyline could be seen in the distance. As the man by the window described all this in exquisite detail, the man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine the scene.

One warm afternoon the man by the window described a parade passing by. Although the other man couldn't hear the band he could see it in his mind's eye as the gentleman by the window portrayed it with descriptive words.

Days and weeks passed. One morning, the day nurse arrived to bring water for their baths only to find the lifeless body of the man by the window, who had died peacefully in his sleep. She was saddened and called the hospital attendants to take the body away.

As soon as it seemed appropriate, the other man asked if he could be moved next to the window. The nurse was happy to make the switch, and after making sure he was comfortable, she left him alone. Slowly, painfully, he propped himself up on one elbow to take his first look at the world outside. Finally, he would have the joy of seeing it for himself. He strained to slowly turn to look out the window beside the bed.

It faced a blank wall. The man asked the nurse what could have compelled his deceased roommate who had described such wonderful things outside this window. The nurse responded that the man was blind and could not even see the wall. She said, "Perhaps he just wanted to encourage you."

Epilogue...There is tremendous happiness in making others happy, despite our own situations. Shared grief is half the sorrow, but happiness when shared, is doubled. If you want to feel rich, just count all of the things you have that money can't buy.

LG announces another Android smartphone - Optimus Black with the new Nova display.........!!!

While Tegra 2 powered LG Optimus 2x made global history by being the first officially announced dual core mobile phone, LG has decided to expand its Optimus lineup of smartphones further this CES. Introducing the LG Optimus Black, making headlines for the brand this time around for its super slim form factor (9.2 mm that diets to 6 mm at its thinnest) and its new NOVA display.

The display is appropriately named, providing a night-sky obliterating 700 nits of brightness on its 4-inch screen. A little contrary to the theme, but no less appreciated, is its claimed 50% better power efficiency, which when coupled with the phone’s 1500 mAh battery, apparently gives up to 24 hours of usage. For now, the display’s resolution has not been revealed. Designed keeping in mind the smartphone’s credo of web browsing, the NOVA display is supposed to consume less than half the power required by AMOLED technology for the white gamut. Running Froyo (v2.2) with Optimus UI 2.0 on board, the Optimus Black will apparently be eligible for a Gingerbread (v2.3) update somewhere down the line. Other features include an overkill first-of-its-kind front-facing 2MP camera, as well as another smartphone first - Wi-Fi Direct for quick data transfer between mobile devices.

Super slim Sony Ericsson Xperia arc gets official with 4.2-inch screen & Gingerbread............!!!

Looks like Sony and LG are battling out on the slimness quotient once again, and this time, it is with phones instead of television sets and LCD panels. While LG just announced the LG Optimus Black, Sony Ericsson introduced the world to its super slim Xperia arc phone, which is apparently just 8.7mm thick at its thinnest.

Featuring an extra wide capacitive (with multi-touch) touchscreen, the Xperia arc touts Sony Ericsson’s new 4.2-inch Reality Display, which boasts of a Mobile Bravia Engine for optimal viewing pleasure. Other features include a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, and an 8.1MP camera that’s powered by Sony’s Exmor R sensor (apparently great for low-light coupled with the phone’s f/2.4 lens) and capable of 720p HD video recording as well.

No word on the pricing, but Sony Ericsson has said it will hit markets globally in Q1 2011.

Motorola introduces 2011's first super-phone with Atrix 4G...........!!!

According to numerous industry experts and journalists, the Acer Iconia Windows 7 dual screen tablet and the Motorola Atrix 4G are some of the hottest things to have come out of this year’s CES 2011, and are the most loved stars of the show. While we have already spoken about the innovative Acer Iconia and its dual-screen laptop form factor, the Motorola Atrix 4G is certainly not lacking in innovation. Currently running Froyo, the Atrix will get an upgrade to Gingerbread soon.

While it is just a phone (though some would beg to differ), the Atrix 4G is supremely well-endowed, and, comes with exciting accessories in the form of docks, which convert the phone into some more. Let us start with the specifications: 4-inch (960x540) Gorilla Glass capacitive touchscreen with qHD rating and 24-bit colour, 1GHz dual core Nvidia Tegra 2 CPU/GPU, 1GB RAM, 16GB internal storage (expandable to 48GB with microSD card), 5MP rear camera capable of 720p HD and front-facing VGA camera for video calls, 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi 802.11n support, dual-microphones for active noise cancellation, and a massive 1930 mAh battery. All this madness, squeezed into less than 11mm of thickness.
The phone’s docks include:
1) Motorola HD Multimedia Dock, which gives users the flexibility of docking their phone with three USB ports and one HDMI, perfect connecting it up to a TV, keyboard, mouse, speakers, all at the same time.
2) Motorola Laptop Dock, the more revolutionary one of the two, and perhaps what makes the Motorola Atrix’s form factor totally ridiculous…the dock is basically an ultralight and ultrathin laptop without a CPU. It has an 11.6-inch screen, and a full-sized keyboard, along with stereo speakers, and a 36Wh three-cell battery which is rated to delivers up to eight hours of battery life. Total weight, including phone, is approximately 1kg. Many tech blogs who have had a chance to use the device in this dock have gone away giddy with excitement, claiming superlative response times with no perceptible lag, as well as a great environment for web-browsing.
